It is funny that every time I ask my friends what is beneath those cycling shorts, they could not give me a straight answer. Actually I was clueless at first and I really thought that perhaps they were just playing with me or something like that but one day I found out it is actually a kind of a tease question. I did not have any idea because I have never worn bike shorts before but then again it is quite funny to know that there is nothing under those cycle shorts because that is how they are designed. And for that, I could not help but imagine the feeling.
Anyhow, at least now I am aware of what is really under those cycling shorts and I do not anymore have to make wild guesses or something. I know that those bike shorts are intentionally made to be tight fitting so that there is not much of a friction or rubbing going on. At the same time, this will prevent much discomfort on the cyclist. That is why they fit the figure of the wearer quite well. And like what I have said, you do not anymore have to wear an underwear because it will only add more friction if you do so.
Cycling shorts may actually come in various shapes, sizes and styles. They may or may not have pads. They say that if you already have bike shorts, you can just buy pads and insert them. Although many cyclists feel more comfortable with them, there are still those who find them bulky so they choose not to have one. And even if the cycling shorts reduce friction, you still need to apply a lubricant to the pads especially if you are thinking of going extra mile. Chamois Buttr and Bag Balm are among the lubricants used in bike shorts.
Now that I found out that nothing is under those cycling shorts, I have learned that is always best to consider hygiene so that every time you wear them, you can still have a good and clean feeling. It is also advisable that you only use them for a couple of hours if it is possible in order to prevent the build up of moisture and bacteria. I guess one has to put in mind that bike shorts have to be taken care of properly so that you can still use them several times and manage to feel comfortable in them.
