Rocktape Athletes Capture Gold at US Championships and Prepare for Battle at 2012 Olympics

Rock Doc Network Picks Up Steam

Rocktape athletes recently captured over twenty prestigious wins in Cycling, Triathlon, Inline Skating and Badminton. In 2010, Rocktape athletes have stepped up onto the podium over 75 times and collectively hold 17 National Titles.

Of special note is Mara Abbott's win in the Giro Donne, the women’s equivalent of the Tour de France and Olivia Dillon's win at the Irish National Championship. Both ride for Peanut Butter & Co/TWENTY12 which has had a breakout season and is now ranked as one of the best women's cycling teams in the world. Rocktape's affiliation with PB&CO started in 2008 and will
continue into 2012.

In preparation for the 2012 Olympics, Rocktape is aggressively adding athletes to its roster. The most recent addition is 2012 Decathlon hopeful Ryan Beckwith. Ryan is a former CIF 4×100m relay champion and runs the 100m in 10.48 and vaults a 17'5”.

Supporting Rocktape athletes is a special network of “Rock Docs”. The recently launched Rock Doc program is the first of its kind and helps link athletes to medical professionals dedicated to treating athletes.

“With over 600 Rock Docs in network, Rocktape has become a hub that connects athletes and medical pros. Our program has created a vibrant community of like-minded people who are striving to reach the pinnacle in their lives though athletic competition. We're thrilled to be able to help these groups come together,” said Greg van den Dries, chairman of Rocktape.

Recently, Rock Doc Dr. Charmaine Magale treated both domestic and international athletes at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Dr. Magale had this to say about her experience: “I love the athletes' dedication and commitment to their sport. They are willing to do anything it takes to rehabilitate their injuries. I often get a funny face from them when they hear that putting on a few pieces of tape will heal the injury faster. When it does, they come back begging for more!” Dr. Magale added, “Rocktape was a great complement to the other skills I was able to provide. When other passive modalities did not produce results, Rocktape usually did.”
