Advice for Beginner Cyclists

There are different ways of doing the climbings on your bike. An inexperienced biker will feel a bit desperate, trying to survive until the end. On the other side, an experienced biker, who is calculated, follows their competitors and beats them in the end. Here are a few basic pieces of information on bike riding.

First of all, lower your heel. In order to understand this technique, just move the leg in the maximum pedalling position until it is straight and then lower the heel as much as possible. You will feel a tension in the lower part of your leg. Maintain this position of the heel throughout the entire rotation of the pedal and you will feel that you are using the muscles behind your hip and your buttocks, these very strong group of muscles helping you overcome any kind of obstacles. It is easy to pedal with your heel down when you use clipless pedals, but it is almost impossible to do that with ordinary pedals.

Alternate the groups of muscles you use. Your muscles charge when you climb because the blood doesn't manage. You can imagine that the muscle is like a factory and that it doesn't matter how hard you try to clean it up because the charcoals spread all over the place. The same goes for cycling, the short use of certain groups of muscles allowing the blood to clean up and allowing the rest of the muscles to rest until you start using them for pedalling again.

You can try changing the position on the seat, you can pedal standing or you can alternate the low heel kind of pedalling with the high heel one.
